10-Mile Pride June 9 + 10, 2023
The 10-Mile Pride festival is a community generated initiative lead by the Town of Breckenridge to support and celebrate the LGBTQ community by fostering an environment that every person can be out, proud, and living their best authentic self.
Breckenridge recognizes that their queer history has had its challenges over the years; however, they are proud of where they have come and where they are going.
Two men in 1960’s sought out Breckenridge to experience a deeper solitude and a safe space to be themselves. In addition to the vast mountain scenery, they were able to overcome adversity and slowly changed the minds and hearts of their neighbors. Nearly thirty years later (1992), that same community was one of only three in the State of Colorado to vote against Amendment 2, which sought to allow discrimination based on sexual identity.
Over the next thirty years Breckenridge continues to welcome and support diversity and inclusion.
